An old friend from college asks Lois to be a surrogate mother for her, and Lois agrees. When the friend unexpectedly dies Lois is not sure what to do. The family gets into one long debate over the issue. Lois must then decide whether to abort the baby, or wait for it to be born and put it up for adoption.
